Court says inmate's lawyer request no longer valid

HOLLAND Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that a suspect's request for a lawyer is good for only 14 days after the person is released from police custody, reinstating the confession of a child molester who had asked for a lawyer nearly three years before he confessed.
