`Grim Sleeper' suspect assaulted in county jail

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A sheriff's spokesman says the man charged in the "Grim Sleeper" killings was attacked by another inmate at the Los Angeles County jail. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Wednesday night that the attack on Lonnie Franklin Jr. occurred Friday in an attorney waiting room.
